GLEN ECHO PARK
GLEN ECHO, MARYLAND

During the early to mid 1960's, Link and the Wraymen were frequently the entertainment at local radio station record hops that were hosted at Glen Echo Park.  Glen Echo was an amusement park just outside of Washington DC, originally built in the early part of the century.

The park closed in 1968, and fell into disrepair.  A community based group got together and saved the place from total destruction.

It is now managed by the National Park Service.  You can ride on a vintage carousel, as well as other rides presently being restored.  There is also a "Spanish Ballroom" with a sprung wood floor for those achin' feet.

Link played here many times, but I have yet to be able to determine if he played in the ballroom, or outdoors at the park.  Therefore, I've included a selection of pictures of Glen Echo Park below.  For a great story of seeing Link at Glen Echo, be sure to check out our links page in the Navigation Bar below.
