WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

LINK WRAY passed away on November 5, 2005.  The Father of the Power Chord, he lived the life he loved, recording and playing his music for his fans the world over during the past SEVEN DECADES.  Punk, grunge, heavy metal, garage, surf and more...it all started with Link Wray.

(count 'em...40s,50s,60s,70s,80s,90s,21st century - SEVEN DECADES!)

DOUG WRAY'S BARBER SHOP was first located in Accokeek and later in Waldorf.  Both building still stand.  In Accokeek, it's PR's Barber Shop and in Waldorf, it's Paul's.

THE BUILDING WHERE RUMBLE WAS FIRST HEARD is still standing in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  It is now a used car auction house.

THE CLUBS where Link called home have changed radically over the years.  The 1023 was razed in 1999.  STRICK'S in Marlow Heights is now a carry-out liquor store.  BRANDYWINE FIREHOUSE still stands. SURRATTSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL in Clinton has undergone extensive renovations, everything except the old gym stage where the Wraymen performed! THE STARDUST was razed in 1998, but the motel next door is still in operation.

There are a few other clubs still standing, see LINK'S STOMPING GROUNDS for more info!
